Felting Mr.T – The Tutorial

I got a few requests for a felting tutorial. Luckily, I took some photos while felting Mr.T. It is not elaborate but good enough to get a gist of how you can go about making him. So let’s begin!

You will need:

-A pair of scissors

-2 colors of felt fabric, I used green and white (You can substitute felt with any spare fabric that you might have handy)

-Contrasting embroidery thread

-Cotton for stuffing

– Paper and pencil for your doodle

Step 1: Start by doodling your buddy on a piece of paper. Keep the sketch simple so that it is easy for you to cut out the body parts.

Step 2: With help of the paper templates, cut out a couple of the head, feet and shell from the fabric.

Step 3: Bind two sides of the shell with a chain stitch, leaving a small space to stuff in the cotton. Repeat this with the head and feet.

Step 4: Finish the remaining stitches after stuffing each part separately.

Step 5: Combine all the parts together with a matching thread. And tada! your done!

Now take him out for a walk.

TIP: To make it look neater, stitch the head and feet inside the two sides of the shell. This way you will have a neater back.

Do let me know if you do end up trying it!
